I'm Cara. Danny and Alison are my kids. Brian is my husband. We live in Park City, UT.

I'm running full speed at my mid-thirties. Danny is 11, Alison is 4 and I'm closer to mid-life than I'd like to admit. I've built and left careers, divorced and re-married, bought and sold houses, loved and left some. My current trajectory points somewhere between small business owner and stay at home mom.

I'm an accountant. My favorite thing about being an accountant is being able to quote a line from the movie 'Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium'.

Mr. Edward Magorium: An accountant. According to the word, it must be a cross between a counter and a mutant and that may be precisely what we need.

I didn't mean to be an accountant, it just fell into my lap one day. And when I say I'm an accountant I mean I have a couple of clients and I work about 15 hours a week from home. More on that later.

We're from Southern California. We moved here 5 few years ago because We can breathe deeper and speak slower here. And there are actual YARDS here. In California we had an asphalt front yard and a concrete patio. I have a garden now, where I grow our own food. And there are mountains here. Mountains full of wilderness and adventure. And that was exactly what I needed when I came here. More on that later, too.

So stick around and I'll tell you my secrets. Most of them.
